Inulin is considered primarily because of its positive effect on the intestinal microflora. Numerous studies have confirmed the stimulating effect of inulin on the growth of bifidobacteria at a dose of 5 grams per day. Because certain types of bacteria have a beneficial effect on human health, primarily Bifidobacteria and Lactobacilli, “feeding” these bacteria with inulin allows them to overcome potentially harmful bacteria.
